With four dual meets and lots of training under their belts, the Falcons have turned their focus to their half-way meet of the season, the Calvin Invitational. The meet will take place Dec. 3-5 in Grand Rapids, MI. Participating teams include Olivet ,Valparaiso, Kalamazoo, Grand Valley State, Alma, Northern Michigan (women), Michigan State, Hillsdale, Denison (divers only), and Trinity, TX (divers only).
The ladies have been training very hard and therefore will go through a slight taper for this meet, as well as race in fast suits in order to post fast times at the mid-point of the season. The mid-way meet is a great preparation for MACS, as it gives the girls an opportunity to race in fast suits while their bodies are rested.
The meet is scheduled to start at 6 p.m. on Dec 3rd, with prelims at 10 a.m. and finals at 6 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. Good luck Falcons!

Recent Meets
On Oct. 16th the ladies kicked off the 2009-2010 season hosting the Akron Zips, the Youngstown Penguins and the Oakland Grizzlies at Cooper Pool for the Tom Stubbs Relays. Out of eleven events, the Lady Falcons took four first place finishes, four second places and three third place finishes.
On Oct. 30th the ladies traveled to nearby Eastern Michigan University for the first dual meet of the season. The Falcons fell to the Eagles 154-119. However, the Falcons recorded 18 top-three finishes; among those were three individual and two relay victories. Halloween found the Falcons traveling to Muncie to challenge the Ball State Cardinals in their home pool. Despite a close meet, the Falcons fell to the Cardinals, 153-141. Despite the loss, the Falcons swam a strong meet, posting 21 top-three finishes, including seven individual first place finishes and two relay victories. Eight of those 21 victories came from freshmen Falcons.
Nov 6th and 7th was another busy weekend for the Falcons, who faced the Ohio University Bobcats on Friday night, and the Miami University Redhawks on Saturday afternoon. On Friday, it came down to the last event, where the Bobcats were unable to stop the force the Falcons had built for themselves throughout the night. Despite the automatic 32 point deficit from the diving events, the Falcons beat out the Bobcats 148-146. Over the course of the night, the Falcons finished in top-three places 25 times, including eight first place finsihes, nine second place finishes and eight third place finishes. On Saturday the Lady Falcons put their best effort into beating the 2008-2009 MAC champions, but fell to the Redhawks 165-129.
